Is this the future of urban mobility?
'Mobilize' is Renault Group's new brand in electric mobility. It's expected to become a significant 30% of Renault Group total turnover by 2030, with its own EVs, chargers and subscription packages.
Leading the brand’s launch on the product side is the Duo, an urban EV city get about with features such as:
🅿️ A compact footprint: this allows three Duo's to park side by side in one regular parking space, making city parking a breeze. It also features doors that swing up for easier access in tight parking spots.
💰 Subscription pricing: Duo cannot be bought outright. Instead, it will be available either for a few minutes or hours at a time via a dedicated app, or for lengthier periods (upwards of three months) through a web-operated subscription service, which will also be used to manage servicing and upkeep.
♻️ Recycled materials: Both the front and rear bumper are identical to make repairs simpler and cheaper, and the car has been built with 50% recycled materials. At the end of its life, Renault says 95% of the Duo can be recycled.
⚡️Access to a fast-charging network: Mobilize will activate self-branded fast-charging hubs across Europe with six 100kW chargers per station along with a lounge-style waiting area. Repurposed batteries from end-of-life EVs will be on hand to provide additional energy storage, to keep charging speeds consistent at busy times, while integrated solar panels will contribute to the supply to reduce strain on the grid during peak hours.
No news yet on an Australian launch.
