Type 2 AC charging

NRMA made the bizarre decision to only support DC charging, which is bad for EV owners who rely on AC-only charging.

Are any of the charging locations supporting Type 2 AC charging?  Can the App be updated to allow users to filter by connection types supported?  Currently I can only see the closest location, and there is no info on charging types supported.

The Plugshare app has suitable filters to show only the desired charger types, and if you limit the charging power to 22kW on the slider, all the chargers should be AC.

Doesn’t invalidate what I said. As a NRMA member I think they have failed a % of their members with AC only cars.

Most Chargefox chargers are AC, and have been acquired by NRMA and other motoring associations, see here:

The Chargefox app will help you find suitable charging locations

Hey @MG1 , Thanks for being part of the conversation. EV sites, such as Cabarita Beach also accommodate AC charging, although you would need to also ensure you have your own cable too.

Outside of this, we've actually added AC chargers to some of our NRMA Parks and Resorts locations too, where guests can book and charge too using the Chargefox app: https://www.mynrma.com.au/electric-vehicles/charging/ev-charging-at-nrma-parks-and-resorts

We've also got AC charging installed at ICC Sydney which are free to use too: https://community.mynrma.com.au/conversations/public-charging/some-new-nrma-chargers-installed-to-power-fully-charged-and-give-more-cbd-top-up-options/640a3d0957d3455af0c60b23

As we continue to rollout more charging and infrastructure, we may include more AC sites too.
